The sold-out event at the Preston Wood Country Club in Dallas was attended by over 300 small business people and vendors on April 8, 2019. This is the third year the large multi workshop event has been held.
The focus of the all-day event was how you can learn to grow your business and get the results you're looking for as a Small Business Owner. Attendees could select 4 of 12 mini Workshops offered throughout the day plus the chance to network with our many Sponsors and Vendors.
Many expressed disappointment they were unable to get tickets as the event was sold out almost two weeks before it was held, and a waiting list was started for tickets.
During the lunch session, three "SCORE Tank" presentations were held. Three Small Business Owners competed to great applause for the best three-minute pitch. The first prize went to Lisa Smith, CEO of startup Ripjack who included a practical demonstration of the innovative underground cable stripping tool which is now being launched. Lisa has seen nine different SCORE mentors during the development of this groundbreaking product.
Prize giving occurred with a Sponsored Networking Happy Hour along with the drawings for Door Prizes and Giveaways to some of our lucky guests.
Chapter president, Larry Nelson welcomed participants and acted as MC. He said the popularity of the event meant the chapter would continue to stage this event annually. He particularly thanked Legacy Texas Bank and other sponsors for their help which made it possible to keep the charge per ticket for the event to be kept to a minimum.
